Hey sex fans,
Today I have the distinct pleasure of introducing you to one of the most charming and delightful (not to mention absolutely adorable) people I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing to date. He is the fantastic artist, Sean-Z. We had such a good time together; we were constantly breaking up with laughter. And our giggling is so damned infectious; I know you will love him (and his work) as much as I do.
Sean is here as part of The Erotic Mind
series. As you know for the past year I’ve been chatting with noted erotic artists, both visual and literary, from all over the freakin world in an effort to try to uncover something of the creative process involved in this specialized art form. Sean’s appearance marks a bit of a milestone for this series. He is the first person of color to join me in this effort. So hurray for that, don’t cha know!
Sean and I discuss:
- How his studio, Rated-Z, and his comic, MYTH, got their names.
- His evolution as an artist and as an erotic artist.
- How he sees himself — artist or illustrator.
- The role his imagination plays in his creations.
- What happened at Comic-con.
- Emerging trends in erotic comics.
- His newest effort — Bent Comix Distribution.

You recall the immortal words of Jessica Rabbit, right? “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.” We have Krysztof and his ilk to thank for that. You see he follows in the long and honored tradition of artists who produce Pin-up art. This art form is so pervasive and universally recognizable that, for many of us, it was our very first introduction to world of erotica of any sort.
