An Octoberfest Q&A Show — Podcast #239 — 10/18/10

[Look for the podcast play button below.]

Hey sex fans,

I’d better take a break from The Erotic Mind podcast series for some hot Q&A, or there will be hell to pay. I know, I know, I agree with you; talking to all these great erotic artists is so entertaining as well as informative, but I do have all these people breathlessly waiting on my sage sex advice. And I haven’t done one of these podcasts since the first week in September.

Today we hear from:

  • Carl who is a little timid about getting back into the (bottom) saddle.
  • I reprise my ever so popular: Finessing That Ass Fuck — A Tutorial For a Top.
  • BD has genital warts.
  • Jayme is just getting back into sex after a near rape experience.
  • Nick is kinda new to gay sex and is having difficulty staying hard.
  • Thomas has had a tomy and want to get back into getting it in the ass.

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!

A little dab’ll do ya!

Sex fans, we have a load of lovely lubes to tell you about.  We received five of the hottest selling Boy Butter products to test, and test we did!  In fact, The Dr Dick Review Crew has pert near wore out their parts testing this stuff.  What we won’t do in the name of science.

Review Crew members; Mick & Chuck, Kevin & Gina, Jack & Karen and Carlos walk us around these products.

Boy Butter Warming 5 oz EZ-Pump —— $20.99

Gina & Kevin
Gina: “We’ve both been wanting to try a warming lube, so I’m glad we were chosen for Boy Butter Warming .”
Kevin: “I like the pump container. It’s easy to use and there’s not the mess that often comes with traditional containers.”BBwarming
Gina: “This stuff really works! With just the first application I could feel the warming sensations. At first, I thought it was going to get too intense for me, but it didn’t.”
Kevin: “It’s a coconut-oil based lube so it’s not compatible with latex condoms. That’s not an issue for us, but I did want to mention that in my review. Also, this is the first creamy lube we’ve used. I was impressed with its lasting power.”
Gina: “I must confess; I had my misgivings at first. I have very sensitive skin and I often have adverse reactions to new lubes. I checked the label on Boy Butter Warming and secretly thought to myself, I can’t even pronounce half of the ingredients. This doesn’t bode well for me using it. At least, that’s what I thought. Curiously enough, I experienced no irritation or discomfort. So yeah for that!”
Kevin: “We love our silicone lubes, but they are a bitch to clean up and they stain clothing. This product however, despite containing silicone and being oil-based, cleaned up in a snap. In fact, it cleaned up like a water-based lube.

Boy Butter 5 oz EZ-Pump —— $16.99

Carlos
This is the original formula Boy Butter.  It comes in several different packaging options, so you may have seen it in a tub or a squeeze bottle.  Personally, I think this E-Z pump is the best.  It’s easy to handle, and you can dispense just the right amount of lube you need every time.  The plastic top keeps it from accidentally messing up anything else it may come in contact with.BBoriginal

I really like the creamy consistency of Boy Butter.  It lasts longer than other oil-based lubes I’ve tried; and I’ve tried plenty.  The organic coconut-oil base keeps it slick and silky.  I’ve never found a better jack-off lube than Boy Butter.  It even outlasts my favorite silicone-based lube.  I’m sold on this product.

Keep in mind; you can’t use Boy Butter with latex condoms.

Clean up is pretty easy too, soap and warm water will do.  It’s so much easier to clean up than my favorite silicone-based lube.

The only drawback that I can see is it doesn’t taste very nice.  But then again, I’m just jacking off with it.  If I planned to go down on someone, I think I would choose a different lube.

Boy Butter H2O 5 oz EZ-Pump —— $16.99

Jack & Karen
Jack:  “Damn, this stuff is great!”BBLh2o
Karen:  “This is the first creamy formula water-based lube I’ve eve seen.  I didn’t even know you could make such a thing.”
Jack:  “We concur with all our fellow reviewers, Boy Butter H2O last long, never gets sticky.  We really like the pump container too.  Very convenient!”
Karen:  “This formula is perfect for use with latex condoms.  And because it is water-based, clean up is a breeze.  It won’t stain clothing or beading either.  And that’s a big plus in my book.”
Jack:  “Neither one of us experienced any negative reactions to this lube; no irritation, nothing.  And we used it for fucking, not just for jillin’ or jackin’ off.
Karen:  “Yeah, I was really surprised by this.  I’m always very careful about what I put near, on or in my pussy.  But knock on wood, I’ve had no adverse reaction at all.”
Jack:  “Kudos for great packaging and branding.  It’s fun and smart.  Funny, up until we got Boy Butter H2O to review, I had never heard of the company.  I wonder, is it a product line that is primarily marketed to gay men?
Karen:  “If it is, that would be really too bad.  Because other straight and bi folks, like us, would really enjoy Boy Butter H2O too.
Jack:  “Get some today; you won’t be sorry!

Boy Butter Extreme 5 oz. E-Z Pump —— $17.99

Boy Butter Extreme Desensitizing H20 Based 5 oz EZ-Pump —— $19.25

Mick & ChuckBBextremeEZ
Mick:  “We have a little confession to make.  Chuck and I had already used Boy Butter Extreme before we were asked to review it.”
Chuck:  “We hadn’t used the H20 Based formula and we really wanted to, so we asked if we could test both products.”
Mick:  “Until we tried the H20 Based one, we thought Boy Butter Extreme was the best such product on the market.  We’ve tired several other desensitizing products, but we liked Boy Butter Extreme best.”
Chuck:  “Sometimes Mick has difficulty relaxing into butt sex.  I’m not tooting my own horn here, but I’m hung 8.5”, pretty thick too.”
Mick:  “Trust me, it’s a sight to behold.  But it’s true; I have a tendency to tighten up when I’m just getting started in a fuck. Boy Butter Extreme helps me over this initial phase allows me to enjoy all that is to come.”
Chuck:  “I love the pump container.  Both products are long-lasting and remain slick and silky, which makes fucking a joy.  I hate it when lubes get sticky!”
Mick:  “Both products use the maximum amount of Benzocaine (7.5%) allowed by law.  So you know this is industrial strength!”BBextremeH2O
Chuck:  “Some people have an adverse reaction to Benzocaine.  If you do, these are not the products for you.”
Mick:  “I am so happy that Boy Butter make a H20 formula, because Chuck has to use a condom when I use either of these products. And the H20 Based version is condom safe.”
Chuck:  “I was just about to mention that.  We had an unfortunate experience a while back when we first started using desensitizing lubes and whatnot.  I didn’t wear a condom and my dick became desensitized too.”
Mick:  “Come to think of it, this wouldn’t be such a bad thing for a guy who has a real short fuse, right?  The Benzocaine would probably just the thing to help him last longer.”
Chuck:  “Oh, and may I suggest that you use these products sparingly.  A little goes a very long way.  You certainly don’t want to over use either of these lubes.  It will take all the fun out of the fuck for both top and bottom; you’ll not be able to feel a thing.”
Mick:  “Exactly, ya simply want to apply a small amount of Boy Butter Extreme (or the H20 Based formula) to your finger, insert it into your ass.  Smooth it around till you’ve lightly coated your sphincter.  You will notice the numbing effect in a minute or two.  Remember, you can always add more if needed, but you can’t eliminate it once it’s been applied.  At least, not without soap and water.”
Chuck:  “We highly recommend these products with the precautions we mention.”
Mick:  “If you’ve shied away from anal sex simply because of the initial discomfort, give one or another of these Boy Butter Extreme products a try.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised.”

Pjur Pleasure

REVIEW #12pjur-original.jpg

Pjur Personal Lubricants

What luck, sex fans! A load of Pjur (pronounced “pure”) products came my way. So I thought I’d spread the wealth, so to speak. I got 5 different Pjur lubes here; enough to share with some of my product review pals and keep one for myself, don’t cha know!

Before I report the findings of Dr Dick’s Product Review Crew, I want to introduce ya’ll to the Pjur label. I’ve tested a vast array of lubes over the years. And while some people have a personal favorite, any connoisseur of personal lubricants will know that the Pjur line of products has an unrivaled international reputation. That’s why I was so jazzed to receive so many different Pjur products to review. And this represents just a fraction of their complete line.

Pjur products are German made. And that, sex fans, means quality. Unlike many similar products, they are clinically and dermatologist tested, approved safe for internal use and certified latex condom compatible. And they never use animal testing.

They come in three different formulas too — Water-based, the type least likely to irritate bodily surfaces. Silicone-based, which is super-slippery and lasts longer than the water-based variety. And a Combination, which is a blend of water-based and silicone. And here’s a tip: when choosing a lube know that the thicker the lube the less friction you’ll experience; thinner lubes will allow for more friction.

For those purists (no pun intended) among us, the people at Pjur maintain a complete list of Ingredients for all their products here.

  • And here’s some news I just learned. Because Pjur uses only the highest-grade silicone in their products, they claim it is safe to use with 90% of all silicone toys. They do not, however, recommend their silicone-based lubes to be used on soft cyberskin or other spongy silicone toys and inserts.

Pjur Eros Bodyglide Originalpjur-original.jpg

Smooth, fragrance free, and doesn’t get ropy or sticky. It’s highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way.

Dr Dick —

“I love this lube. I keep returning to this brand year after year. I’m never disappointed. Oh, and did you know that it doubles as a swell massage lotion. In these tough economic times, wise consumers choose quality products. And when these quality products are also multi-functional, well then you know you’ve struck gold.

I’ve had the pleasure of introducing this particular lube to several men who have worked on and in one or another of my Daddy Oohhh! Productions. Studio lights and long filming sessions tend to dry out water-based lubes. But Eros Bodyglide always withstands the rigors of a porn shoot. If you have the kind of sex that would make a porn star blush, this is the lube for you. 😉

And get this, one of my featured performers, a guy who is heavy into latex and rubber told me that he uses Eros Bodyglide to help him get into his skin tight outfits. He also claims that Eros Bodyglide keeps his gear nice and shiny. All I could say is, ‘I did not know that!’”

Pjur Woman Bodyglide

Pjur Woman line of products is designed especially for the soft and sensitive skin of women.pjur-woman.jpg Woman Bodyglide contains conditioners and moisturizers, but no oils, fats, preservatives or animal byproducts.

Joy —

“I’m a big fan of Pjur products, I’ve been using Eros Bodyglide for years. It’s my lube of choice. This is the first time I’ve used one of the products from their Woman line. I didn’t think I would change my mind about my favorite lube, but Woman Bodyglide is totally amazing. It has a lighter feel to it than the Eros product I’m used to. It feels really natural, like what my own body makes. I’m totally impressed.

And this stuff lasts and lasts, which makes it really economical. And who doesn’t need to be cost conscious these days?

I also like the fact that it is scent free and has no discernible taste. I just hate it when the lube I’m using tastes like cooking oil…or worse. The fact that it’s nontoxic and non allergenic is a big plus.

I’m sold!”

Pjur Superhero Energizin Ginkgo Lubricantsuperhero.jpg

Water-based personal lubricant designed for men who want a little boost. The key ingredient, Ginkgo, provides a natural, safe, viagra-like source of energy and growth thus providing maximum endurance and enjoyment. The special ingredients reduce hypersensitivity.

Ideal for use with all silicone toys.

Tag and his Play Partner —

“The label says ginkgo stands for expansion, power and energy. My play partner and I felt nothing. We, however, normally get rock hard and already have plenty of energy for sex. The label does say that it is ‘ideal for use in combination with Pjur Superhero Performance Spray for Men.’ Maybe I would have noticed some benefit had I also had the spray.

Or maybe this product is just marketed at someone other than me.”

Pjur Eros BASIC Bodyglideeros-basic.jpg

An inexpensive alternative silicone-based Bodyglide. Non-toxic, non-pore blocking, with no taste or odor, and latex safe.

Angie and her husband —

“This is a fine lube. You need very little for it to last a long time. My husband and I both liked this product very much. We didn’t have to interrupt our lovemaking to reapply. So that was a big plus in our book.

I understand that they have a water-based version of this product. I want to try that sometime. I can’t use this particular lube with my silicone vibe; and that’s just a darn shame.”

Know Thyself!

It’s 2006 people! The internet impacts on nearly every aspect of our lives. We have more immediate access to more specific information about every conceivable thing under the sun — an access and availability unparalleled in history. We have the collective knowledge of all humankind at our fingertips, both literally and figuratively. Despite this super-available wealth of information, many of us still live in the dark when it comes to our bodies and how they work. We are uninformed about our anatomy, unaware of the mechanics that make us tic, and oblivious to our own sexual response cycle. This sort of ignorance and estrangement leads to all sorts of troubles.

Hi Richard
I really only had my first male sexual encounter in September (which I enjoyed!). We tried oral. He was cut and I’m not. I didn’t enjoy receiving it though as the head my dick is sensitive to the point of being sore when the foreskin is pulled all the way back. I only do that in the shower when I’m cleaning down there. When I self-pleasure, I do it in a way that the foreskin never goes full back, just halfway. I’m not sure if this is a common problem with uncut men.
I do like the idea of anal sex and I’m looking for a patient top for my first time. But I’m just worried about the whole sensation and preparation, etc.
Wayne

Wow, Wayne, new to gay sex, huh? I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying yourself. Yes, the prospects of fully enjoying your newfound sexual interests must hold great allure. Congratulations!

As to your issue of your hypersensitive dick head — let’s just say that’s part of the joy of having an uncut dick. Many uncut men report similar sensitivity, especially when they haven’t had a lot of partnered sex. Some of the discomfort will dissipate on its own with the more cock-play you have. However, you can also hasten the desensitization process by retracting your foreskin and leaving your unsheathed dick in your underwear for an hour or so at a time. You could also try masturbating with your foreskin completely retracted. This will, no doubt, feel a bit odd and perhaps even uncomfortable at first, but like I said, this will subside. The object of these exercises is to take the edge off, so to speak. You don’t need to concern yourself with thoughts of total desensitization — there’s no likelihood of that happening. But you do want to get to a point where you can enjoy some great head without worrying that you will be sore afterward. You might also want to encourage your cock sucking friends to be especially careful when they’re chowin’ down on your tender meat.

In anticipation of finding that patient top you seek; you can prepare yourself, and your asshole, for the enjoyment to come. During your own private sex play — masturbation — be sure to include your sphincter and prostate. Familiarize yourself with your whole hole-area. Use your fingers and/or a small dildo to test the waters, so to speak. Take your time and use lots of lube. Don’t be afraid to experiment and push the limits a bit. The more that you know about your own ass, the more you will be able to inform future partners on how best to pleasure you.

You might want to experiment with douches too. Over the counter stuff is ok, but a simple solution of warm water and a bit of vinegar or lemon juice works even better. It’s cheaper too. When it comes to fucking, a clean ass is a happy ass. Remember when you bottom, your anal hygiene is your responsibility. The more you know about anal health and hygiene, before you give up your ass for the first time, the more likely both you and your top will enjoy yourselves.

Good luck

Hi again Richard
I appreciate you taking time to answer my questions and for the advice you’ve given me. I still think an uncut cock is a curse though! LOL Each time I read your suggestion about rolling back my foreskin, I have to cross my legs. So I just need to get over that. 🙂
I will try a dildo and some lube for exploration. The nearest I have come so far is to try a finger wrapped in tissue paper. The reason this worried me was because even after a BM, sometimes it caused gas to be released and once or twice even “forced” another movement.
When being topped, does the cock go past the “squishy” muscle that I can feel with my finger? And how would one apply a water and lemon juice solution?
Wayne

Hello again, Wayne,

You’ll never convince me that an uncut dick is a liability. I firmly believe that, in most circumstances, body parts are best left in their natural state.

Learning to care for an uncut dick is something else indeed. There are plenty of resources on the internet for uncut men like you. I suggest doing a search with word strings like: Sex Information or Health Information and Uncircumcised. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with the wealth of information available.

One word of caution, have your wits about you when reading through the information you find on the net. For example, you will probably notice that the American medical industry has a very strong bias toward circumcision. For some reason, our culture would prefer to mutilate a cock instead of teaching the cock’s owner, be it boy-child or grown-up man, how to care for and clean his pecker in its natural state.

Wait a minute; you’re wrapping your finger in toilet paper before sticking it in you ass? That can’t be fun or comfortable. Listen, partner, your ass is your friend, it’s the source of loads of pleasure. Shit also comes out of your ass, but it’s not the end of the world if you get a bit of it on your finger during exploration. It’s soap-and-water soluble, ya know. Rootin’ around in your bum or someone else’s bum can and often does produce some interesting byproduct. No surprise there, it’s an asshole after all.

Washing your hands after butt play, as well as keeping them away from your mouth until they are washed, will help keep things sanitary. May I suggest you get a copy of: Anal Pleasure and Health: A Guide for Men and Women by Jack Morin, Ph.D. It’s an excellent primer for the anal novice. You can find it online.

My, you are uninformed about your own anatomy. The squishy muscle you speak of is your sphincter muscle. And yes, one would hope that a top’s dick would go past that muscle to at least the depth where his cock can stimulate your prostate. Unclear on where your prostate is? You’ll find plenty of information online about that too. Do a search with word strings like: Prostate and Health Information and Anatomy.

Here’s some more homework for you. Do and internet search using the words: Anal Douche. You will find all the information you need about the care and cleaning of your asshole. You’ll also find a vast array of implements designed for just this purpose. Have a ball!

Good luck

Dr. Dick,
Please help me. I am an attractive 21-year-old guy. I have no problems with meeting women nor do I have a low libido, the problem is that I suffer from hemorrhoids. This is really embarrassing as I don’t even let a girl touch my ass. And you know how girls like to play with a guy’s ass these days. I know there are cures for hemorrhoids, but none have worked and my doctor said it is useless to cure them because anal sex will cause their return. Please, please help…I am dying of frustration and fear.
Regards,
Jay

Dear Jay,

You are not alone. Many men and women suffer from hemorrhoids and, as you say, it can be frustrating, even embarrassing. But there is hope.

The first thing you ought do is look for another physician. If you are accurately reporting your doctor’s comments about butt fucking and hemorrhoids then he’s got a problem. What he told you is simply not true. You needn’t live a life of frustration and fear just because you have an ass-phobic doctor.

Do an internet search with word strings like: Hemorrhoids and Health Information and Anal Sex.

It’s hard for me to imagine a case of hemorrhoids so bad that it couldn’t be helped or cured by one of the many new and sophisticated therapies and interventions currently available. And with regard to butt fucking, there are many people who would believe that light anal stimulation can actually help relieve and even prevent hemorrhoids from reoccurring.

So do yourself a favor. Get a second opinion, a third if necessary. Find a sex-positive doctor. You can even do an internet search for Sex Positive Doctors. Or you can get a referral from a local gay hotline. Or look for a proctologist at a local university hospital. You’re more likely to find an open-minded practitioner there.

Your current physician has given you very poor advice indeed. He has done you a great disservice. Don’t let him have the last word.

Good Luck,
dr. dick
